The Wild Wild West
We've hit the road in search of all the trout streams and Americana one road trip can take.
Back to #nomadlyweds-ing and this time: we're going WEST.
When our darling friends David and Krista announced their wedding in Idaho, we knew we'd be making the pilgrimage by Hyundai.
This morning I've been drawing french lessons, listening to The Snails and plotting some infographics for the Market Day website from the in-room desk of a hotel in Deadwood, SD. (Kev is out fishing, obviously)
I think the cool kids call me a "digital nomad" or "location independent." That's just code for "hey you work for yourself now. you can really work anywhere with wifi, paper, your scanner pro app and highlighters." A perk to #goingsolo for sure. I'm splitting my time on this Wild West adventure: soaking in the sights and being the best digital nomad I can be.
The first leg of the trip began with a spontaneously early start, spending an evening in Sioux Falls before trekking across South Dakota on I-90. I learned most of South Dakota's billboard-advertised-attractions are actually large gift shops (no offense SD), that Mount Rushmore is smaller than I thought it'd be (but lovely) and that Trader Joe's offers up some delicious South African beef jerky.
This weekend we'll take in all the fireworks and sip the best local brews South Dakota has to offer. (We're currently fans of Miner Brewing.)
Happy holiday weekend, America.
