Skywalk Mural, Des Moines, IA 2023

Des Moines played host to first and second round NCAA Mens basketball tournament games and tens of thousands of visitors came to our city. As happens in Iowa “Spring” it snowed. But that was good news for anyone wanting to snap a selfie with my newest mural in the Des Moines Skywalk.

This mural shows off some Des Moines icons in vivid color. Working with the Des Moines Partnership, the original sketches above were edited until we landed on a final illustration that represented the art, the sports, and the energy of Downtown Des Moines. The finished mural illustration was printed on vinyl and installed to cover 8.5 x 10 feet of an otherwise drab skywalk wall. The mural will be up past the tournament weekend- so swing by to snap a photo!
