Dear Market Day,
Whew I'm glad you're over, but oh man I can't wait for you to come back.
Before you, Market Day, I wouldn't have pushed myself to draw more, to invest in my own craft and business plan. Before you, Market Day, I didn't know about keeping receipts and that the breakfasts we have to plot Market Day successes are tax deductible.
Before you, Market Day, I didn't know Cat and Dani and Scott and Ken. And thanks to you, Market Day, I've gotten to learn from these super cool people I now call friends. Before you, Market Day, I didn't know what LARPing was, I didn't have a CSA share and I hadn't been to Des Moines' meditation group. Before you, Market Day, I didn't know that booth set up directly effects sales nor had I been a featured television guest (exaggeration? nah). Before you, Market Day, I didn't have this bad ass website, in fact I didn't know I could have a bad ass website. Before you, Market Day, I didn't buy urls. [Now I do. Booyah. www.sendmoremail.com ]
Thanks to you, Market Day, I'm more confident in my craft, I'm a better artist, a better teeny business owner and a more inspired, invested member of the DSM art community. Thanks to you, Market Day, I get to see Cat and Dani for breakfast every other week and have a delicious bagel with lox and avocado and cream cheese and eggs. (Thanks to you, Market Day, I've put on at least three extra LBS.)
I'm exhausted, but in the great gave-it-all-you-have kind of way. And Market Day, I just can't wait for next year.
