My kind of town.

Dear 30,

9 discs of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo later, I'm back to my city, the trashcan is on the curb (#responsibilities), I've had a pint of raspberries and the new Ikea plates are in the dishwasher.  I miss my fam already. And I miss when On Demand worked and the cable didn't look pixely. But I miss my family more. Definitely more.

This is what life post-chi-city-vacay looks like at 7pm. Yes. I'm in bed. Vacation is exhausting.

We've been going to Chicago for as long as I can remember. We have family there, shopping memories there and sometime soon, we'll celebrate a wedding in the Windy City.  So this trip was especially special (is that redundant?) because we were able to scout some great venues for my sis and her fiance, talk through pinterest boards and share life updates over cocktails. I think you'll remember me proclaiming that my family is more fun than yours. Still true. SINS. (Got it right this time Kate.)

Trip highlights include a quick stop in Muskie for Sals and Wildcat's newest jello shot concoction, the Manhattan. Then there was a  super delicious coffee rubbed steak taco in Boystown. A gleeful (like so excited someone peed on the floor, ps it wasn't me) meeting with Penny the dog happened, finally. And on top of all that: a photobooth or two.

Photoboothed at Three Aces. Which is what I should have called the 3 of us while we were there. 3 of 4 girls. 1 of 3 photostrips.

It was a short, but so sweet (and at times super sweaty, hello heatwave) trip to the city that is so lucky to house two of my sisters and my soon-to-be bro. Wish I could have stayed longer, but it's nice to be back in my kind of town. (See what I did there? I'm not sure it made sense. But I'm referring to DSM. FYI.)

Miss you already. Onto the next items on the list...I have had a hankerin' for lobster...
